overview
holmium nitrate, chemical formula Ho(NO3)3 nH2O (n = 6,5,3)(dried in H2SO4 atmosphere of 48, 60 and 98% respectively), light yellow crystal. Previous studies have shown that rare earth elements can cause lipid peroxidation damage in the liver and lung of rats, and lipid peroxidation damage can produce active free radicals, cause base damage, DNA strand breaks, and have mutagenic effects. The results of in vitro culture of A549 lung cancer cells also proved that the chromosome aberration rate of cells treated with SOD activity inhibitor was significantly increased and showed certain toxic changes. When the ability of body cells to produce SOD decreases or the concentration of free radicals in the internal environment is too large, the genetic material in the cell membrane and membrane may be damaged to varying degrees. With the increase of the dose of holmium nitrate, the degree and number of nuclear abnormalities showed an upward trend. It is speculated that high dose of holmium nitrate inhibits the activity of antioxidant enzymes and increases the accumulation of free radicals in cells, which aggravates the damage of genetic material and the degree of nuclear distortion. According to this, high doses of rare earth element holmium may have mutagenic effects.
Synthesis
Accurately weigh the quantitative holmium oxide, add a trace amount of dilute HNO3, heat and react to prepare hydrated crystals, use normal saline to fix the volume to a certain volume (pH is about 5.5), and then dilute into various gradient solutions, namely Holmium nitrate solution.
